Class: XXXIV (2023)Circuit: FourthPamela Simmons-Beasley is a Standing Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trustee for the District of South Carolina. Before this appointment in January 2016, she practiced consumer bankruptcy law for 21 years. In addition to being a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy, Pamela is a member of the South Carolina Bar, South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association (SCBLA), The J. Bratton Davis Bankruptcy American Inn of Court, and the National Association of Chapter Thirteen Trustees, for whom she currently serves as co-chair of the NACTT Inclusion and Acceptance Committee and the Bankruptcy Diversity Equity and Inclusion Consortium. Pamela is a past president of the SCBLA and recipient of its William E. S. Robinson Public Service Award, which recognizes distinguished public service to the legal profession and the community. She also serves as a team captain for the Prisma Health Midlands Foundation’s campaign to support breast cancer research and serves as a board member of Homeless No More, a nonprofit organization in the Midlands of South Carolina dedicated to eradicating family homelessness. Pamela received her BA from Emory University in Atlanta Georgia, and her law degree from the University of South Carolina.
