2018 American College of Bankruptcy Fourth Circuit Moot Court Event

The Education Committee of the Fourth Circuit is pleased to announce we will follow in the footsteps of other circuits and offer a 2018 American College of Bankruptcy Fourth Circuit Moot Court event.

The moot court will be held on Monday, February 19, from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m, at the American Bankruptcy Institute, 66 Canal Center Plaza, Suite 600, Alexandria, VA 22314 .

We anticipate one preliminary round with each team presenting arguments for the petitioner and the respondent, one final round, and a reception. Teams do not need to submit briefs.

2018 UPDATE: Students from Campbell, Georgetown and George Washington law schools will compete in the event.

The competition will involve the same commercial law fact pattern as used for the Duberstein Moot Court Competition: http://www.stjohns.edu/law/center-bankruptcy-studies/duberstein-moot-court-competition

Law schools may compete, at no cost, in the circuit regional whether or not they plan to compete in the Duberstein.
