COCKTAIL RECEPTION TO FOLLOW

Based on the responses we received from participants in our gender equality program last fall, and in sponsorship with the DEI Committee of the American College of Bankruptcy, we are planning an afternoon workshop on June 1, 2023, from 2:00 - 5:00pm, with a cocktail reception to follow. The workshop will provide actionable, practical tools to begin the implementation of best practices in, among other areas, hiring, evaluations, retention, and promotions. The workshop will be led by Professor Iris Bohnet, who shared many of her ground-breaking insights with us during the November 2022 program.

As a supporter of gender equality, we hope your firm will attend the workshop. Given the unique, “hands on” nature of this program, we are strongly encouraging participating firms to send two representatives to the workshop:

•  An “influencer” from the restructuring group who can, themselves or with the assistance of
members of their team, champion the adoption of the recommended practices in their firm, and
•  A representative from HR with sufficient seniority to lead the initiative for the HR function.

While participation at the most senior levels is strongly encouraged, we understand that the 3 hour commitment may be challenging for senior professionals and suggest as an alternative you consider designating a “champion” for this initiative who is passionate about gender equality and will take
the lead in participating with your HR representative in the workshop and working with HR to guide the implementation of the initiatives at your firm.

We are very excited about the upcoming workshop and the potential for actionable improvements in gender equality in each of our firms. Please email Shari Bedker at sbedker@amercol.org to submit your two registrations for the workshop.
