6th Circuit Fall Weekend

Friday, September 8, 2023

The Northeast Ohio Fellows are pleased to invite you to Cleveland on September 8-10 for a spectacular weekend of camaraderie, education, food and fun.  We have a block of rooms at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown.  Please make your reservation soon.  The cut off period for making reservations is August 11, 2023. We are trying to extend this period; however, we do not have a commitment from the hotel.  There is a home football game on Sunday and the hotel generally is full on home football weekends.  The reservation information is:

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2023

The weekend begins with drinks at 5:30 at Bar 32 on the 32d floor of the Hilton, which has a spectacular view of downtown Cleveland and Lake Erie.

We will have dinner at the Marble Room on Friday night.  The Marble Room is a spectacular restaurant which is situated in the old National City Bank lobby.  We have a private room reserved for our fellows.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2023

Saturday we will walk to Thompson Hine (which is a block from the hotel) for continental breakfast and our education program.  The educational program will offer 2.5 hours of CLE-CPE. The first panel offers a preview of possible Supreme Court Bankruptcy cases led by Marc Levinson and Cathy Steege. The second panel is called  "The Future of the Texas Two-Step After LTL Management and Aearo Technologies" and features John Bae, Alan Lepene, and Marc Merklin.

After the education program we will have lunch brought into Thompson Hine for the fellows and guests from Slyman’s Deli.  Each attendee will have a choice of corned beef, turkey, pastrami, or tuna salad, but the corned beef can’t be beat.  Usually, the corned beef sandwich will feed two adults.

For those wishing to tour the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, we will have tickets.  A friend, who was a docent at the Hall (they laid everyone off during the pandemic) will lead a tour or you can do a self-guided tour.

Saturday night we head over to Brian & Megan Bash’s horse farm and training center (about a 40-minute drive) for a tour and food truck BBQ.  After dinner, for those of you who can stay awake after 10, we will head up to Bar 32.
